    Dartford has been aggressive in its use of digital communications. One great example is its online promotion of the annual Dartford Festival using email and SMS messages. The Festival brings in visitors from around the region each July to hear great local bands and enjoy food, crafts, dancing, games and other activities.

    Met Office

    Met Office achieved a five-fold increase in digital message subscribers during 2010 through highly innovative search engine optimisation approaches. More than 28 million messages were sent to more than 55,000 subscribers throughout 2010. Met Office has also used cross promotion with its GovDelivery network partners to gain 34 percent more subscribers.

    Driving Standards Agency (DSA) has been recognized for its Excellence in Communications, awarded for "utilising email, Web 2.0 tools and print media to promote its email subscription service, achieving more than 19,530 subscribers, while increasing subscriptions to its YouTube Channel by over 2,000%."

    Highways Agency

    The United Kingdom Highways Agency was recognized for its Excellence in Communications. This award was presented to Helen Rix, Deputy Website Manager, for "engaging the public through innovative use of widgets and subscription items; offering personalised and timely communication to help increase agency reach with an average of 62 new subscribers daily (162% increase from the previous average)."
